Hello-

I am having difficulty getting the section to display above the navigation bar.

Nevermind, I figured this out.

You must go into Appearance -> Widgets

Place ‘Text’ widget inside of the “Teaser Widget Area”

Now I just need to figure out how to have this only display on the home page.

This is a must have plugin for CMS type sites where you want to have different widgets on various pages/posts/sections of your site.

Casey- thanks so much for pointing me to that plugin, this gives me the type of control I am use to with Drupal.

I am just getting back into using Wordpress (used int in the 1.x days), any tips/places you could point me to would be greatly appreciated.

That’s good to hear. I’m not very experienced with Drupal myself, but I’ve seen some incredibly competitive things done with WordPress.

WordPress was originally created as a blogging platform with an option for static pages, but has evolved into a great CMS over the years. If you’re comfortable with getting your hands dirty every now and then, you can do some great stuff just by creating a simple function.

You’ll find that WordPress references “IDs” quite often. This is a great plugin for simply displaying the ID next to everything in the UI.
