Big Update to Orion WordPress Theme

  • Posted on Feb 10, 2016

Orion, originally released in 2009 has always been a popular theme. One major fallback is that it wasn't responsive - until now.

We essentially took the same design, flattened some gradients, greatly enhanced the publishing experience and added some nifties for you designers and developers to make it your own.

One major task was porting the theme options to the core WordPress Customizer. It's a huge improvement and we think you're going to love using it.

Check out the Orion2 Demo.

Other enhancements include built-in support for ACF, a dedicated slider plugin with supporting theme styles, remote updates and much faster page loads.

Developer Bonus: If you love SASS, you'll also find a bundled Grunt/SASS/LiveReload workflow for local development.

What About Existing Orion Installations?

If you're using the old version, you're going to want to treat this version as a completely separate theme. The good news is that your customizations will be visible in realtime and you should be able to get up and running fairly quickly.
