I designed a new blog post today, see below:

http://www.sarrobackandneck.com/myofascial-pain-syndrome/

When you go to the link, it says “Continue Reading” instead of displaying the whole post.

When you click “Continue Reading” the link does not work.

The only way to view the whole post is from the blog page here:

All my prior posts works normally.

The only changes to my site, was I updated the Element Parent today.

Please Help!

I fixed this issue.

The problem I figured out had to do with the URL of the post being identical to the category name and slug.

I have never had the coincidence of this happening B4.

What are the rules to follow on that in the future?

That is definitely strange. It could be something to do with your permalink settings or .htaccess rules.

Settings > Permalinks.

This my permalink set up under Settings > Permalinks:

I have post name checked, with         http://www.sarrobackandneck.com/sample-post/

Maybe I should change to custom:      /%postname%

I don’t think that would be any different though?

I am also running Yoast Seo plug in. I have the following Checked:

Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL.

Redirect attachment URL’s to parent post URL.

I am wondering if the category base being stripped is the issue?

Any ideas before I break something trying to fix this?

To your knowledge this should not happen, for example I should be able to have a post titled the same as a category?

Thanks

If you’re stripping the category name from the url and you have a post with a slug the same as a category slug, then yes I would assume that would cause a redirect loop.

I guess that how it must have happened. I just set that to strip out the word category per a SEO video, but I can see where it probably created this problem.

I’ll have to change the setting, put the category slug name back to the same name as the post, and test it.

Sounds like a slam dunk though.

Thanks for the help!
