This has become a chronic error. I don't seem to be getting any help with my inquiries

Suggestions:

What do you mean by "acts like a virus"?

The error message "could not connect" sounds like a network/web hosting error.

Have you searched for the answer on Google? This topic seemed to shed some light on the issue:

All seems well. Neither the hosting service or isp were willing to take responsibility for the problem, but it has resolved. Thank you for your time.

Glad you were able to get this resolved. I was experiencing the same error on a site last night - I had to refresh two times in order to get it to display. I'm convinced it's a Chrome issue. Firefox works fine..
