My child theme is the active theme, so I never expected updating the parent theme would break things.

However, now the theme isn’t recognizing the shortcodes for columns. Instead of breaking text into columns, the shortcode and all html for the shortcodes are visible on the pages.

HELP!!! I’ve tried fixing but can’t.

The shortcodes were moved to a universal plugin.
You should have noticed a prompt to install it. Did you do that?

No, I was not provided with any prompt to install anything. All the instructions remained the same. That’s why I opened the ticket. Thank you for telling me what went wrong.. you may want to have developer fix theme so it gives a prompt to install the plugin even if the child theme is the active theme.

I see what happened. Unless I click on the “plugins” tab of my admin area, I didn’t see a prompt to install any plugins for the updated theme.
