After Updating WordPress - Gallery Images in One Vertical Column

Hi,

I updated WordPress (to version 5.4.1) and now the images in my galleries are showing in one single vertical column.  Before I updated, all of my gallery thumbnail pictures would appear grouped together, with two or three pictures side by side in each row, which is much preferred.  I use the Jiogshop plugin to sell products, and I create these galleries from the add media section for each product (I am not using a gallery plugin to create the galleries).  I also noticed that, after updating Wordpress, the 1st gallery image appears to be indented slightly to the right - it is not very noticeable, but I am not sure if that could help determine the problem.

Here is an example of what the gallery looks like after updating (what it should not look like): http://simplebeadpatterns.com/product/shimmering/

Here is an example of a page on another website that I have not yet updated (what it should look like):  http://simplebeadkits.com/product/braided/

Please help as soon as possible because our website is how we support ourselves, and our pages look awkward - especially the ones with a lot of pictures in the gallery.

Thank you!

Cara

Hi Cara,

I’m not seeing the problem you’ve described.

Can you post a screenshot of the issue as well as OS/Browser etc?

Hi Casey,

Thank you so much for getting back with me so quickly!  Well, I am super relieved that it is not as big of a problem that I thought it was.

I am using FireFox.  I just updated to the latest version of FireFox and it is still happening.  I tried to scroll out to see more of the page to get the screenshot, and once I scrolled out really far, it fixed itself.  As I zoom in, until I am super close, the gallery photos stay in a vertical column.  It is only when I scroll out really far that the pictures orient themselves in a group.  It seems like the gallery thumbnails are not being responsive like they should be.

I tried viewing my website in Google Chrome and everything looks perfect.  As I zoom in and out, the gallery thumbnails stay in a group together.

I attached a picture of the images in a vertical column.

Do you have any ideas about how to fix this?

Thank you!

Cara

Hi,

Any ideas when this can be fixed?  If it is something you can’t help with, can I please have a refund?

Thank you,

Cara

Hi, first of all there’s a missing image in your markup and it appears to be a PDF file link. I’m not sure why it’s there but it’s causing the extra space.

The Firefox 101% bug can be fixed by updating the end of style.css from:
(I’m not sure why those rules are nested. I don’t see them in the original)

div.product div.images a img {
    width: auto !important;
    height: auto !important;

 .slideshow-wrapper {
 width: 350px;
        float:right;
        display: inline;
 margin-right: 20px;

}
}

to:

.slideshow-wrapper {
     width: 350px;
     float:right;
     display: inline;
     margin-right: 20px;
}
