Hi Casey,

I am close to finish the website. One last situation that I need help with is to remove the footer on the home page. I installed a plug-in that introduces a splash page (or custom html). It will help me direct traffic according to the language of the visitor.

However, in Mobius theme below the screen saver introduced by short code, the footer is there. Please see here http://www.kaiterum.com It kind of ruins the intention. :-) I have tested it with onyx and the footer is not shown. Only in Mobius.

I could use Onyx theme as a solution for http://www.kaiterum.com since it is almost an empty page, but for the language dedicated subdomains it will not be a solution since Mobius is essential now.

I have looked in the functions.php page of the child theme but did not find a function that sets the footer in order to comment it out or change it.

Please guide me what can I do.

Thank you, and much appreciated!

Hi Adrian,

Fellow forum member here. There are three ways to do this.

The first is to add a custom field value. First, go to the edit page for the specific page you’d like to hide the footer on and look in the screen options tab at the top of the page. Make sure the box for “Custom Fields” is checked. Next, scroll to the bottom of the edit page and look for the “Custom Fields” editor. Under name type “hidefooter” and under value type “true”, then click the “Add Custom Field” button. Now update your page and check the live version. I’ve attached two screenshots to this reply that illustrate this.

The second solution is to simply hide the footer with CSS in your style[x].css file in your child theme. You’ll need to replace the XXXX with the appropriate page number. For example:

body.page-id-XXXX #footer {

displaynone !important;

The third solution is to create a custom function in your functions.php file to remove the footer altogether, but at this point I don’t think that’s necessary, as Mobius already provides the custom fields solution mentioned above.

Good luck!
