Change speed on sliders?

Is there a way to slow the slider speed?  With just images it looks great but with text added to the slides it changes too fast to read any of the rest of the page (a bit distracting).

Just noticed a grammar error on page, went to edit it and spotted the slider variables.  :)

Glad you got it sorted. For others who may stumble across this in the future, the “speed” variable is in the slider shortcode:

[slideshow effect="crossfade" category="12" width="930" height="266" autoplay="3000" speed="700" pagination="true" prevnext="true"]

I Think the confusing part is that the default variable is set to true and not number
